My end of year beauty roundup came round fast, but rest assured I have some pretty exciting products to introduce you to! 2016 was a great year for beauty finds – I actually had to make a few lists before I nailed down this final lineup!
From skincare right through to haircare and fragrance, here’s the best of the best…
Pixi Glow Mist; This dreamy skin spritz has become a staple of mine this year, it’s a must have for setting and reviving makeup throughout the day. I usually find skin mists like this make skin feel tight and uncomfortable after application, but this is infused with oils that keep the complexion softly hydrated and seriously dewy.
The Estee Edit Up & Out Mascara; It’s been a while since I’ve found a mascara I love enough to recommend on here, but this double-ended wonder is my pumped-up lash staple. I usually use the thicker end for my top lashes and use the smaller spoolie for separating the bottom lashes. It’s a wonder worker for awakened eyes.
Byredo Mojave Ghost; I know, I know – I’ve mentioned this fragrance NON FREAKIN’ STOP! I’m obsessed with this heavenly scent, it’s easily my favourite perfume find ever, the woody, floral combination is just perfect.
I love the way it smells on first spritz, but it settles on the skin throughout the day to become the most intoxicating fragrance. It’s one of those perfumes I constantly get compliments on too, and who can argue with that!
BECCA Luminous Blush in Camellia; I’ve been sticking to the same few blushers on rotation for a while, so I added a new one to the mix. This Becca blush instantly adds a perky pop of radiance to the skin, giving a seriously flawless flush with just the right amount of shimmer.
Ouai Texturising Hair Spray; I think everyone who tried this Ouai wonder became smitten with it on first use! I always love a bit of texture in my hair, and this gives freshly washed or too soft hair just the right amount of grit and hold. I’m on to my fourth bottle!
Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets; Another sell-out product of the year was these Lip Magnets; creamy lipsticks that glide on and produce a vibrant punch of non-budge colour.
I wasn’t expecting to be blown away by these, but I have to say they’re some of the best lip products I’ve ever tried. Application is a dream, the colour range is absolutely spot on and the formulation is faultless!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Surreal Edit; I doubt this palette needs an introduction, but for those who haven’t spied me squealing about this marble-wrapped edit, it’s all you need to achieve supermodel-esque skin in a flash.
The palette contains five unreleased shades, from Ambient Lighting Powders to blushers and a bronzer. I won’t be without it, it’s definitely my favourite palette find of the year!
Oribe Matte Waves; This was an impulse buy on one of my many Space NK trips and I knew from the name that I’d love it!
I love a bit of grit to my hair, and this mattifying lotion encourages textured waves without the effort. I sweep it over damp hair and leave to dry, it brings out beachy locks in my fine, flat hair.
Bobbi Brown Sparkle Shadow in Pebble; This quickly became my go-to, everyday shadow since I first tried it during a tour of the Bobbi NYC HQ! It’s a beaut glitter eyeshadow, it has only a hint of colour and it’s so subtle that it just makes eyes pop. I adore how pretty it looks, and it’s so simple to just sweep on. Well worth a try!
Roger & Gallet Aura Mirabilis Cleanser; I’ve recommended this cleanser a few times, it has a great texture and it deep cleanses the skin so effortlessly. I love the way it melts away makeup and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and supple.
You can also leave it on for a few minutes as a purifying mask, which is great for a once-weekly deep cleanse!
Clinique Pop Lip Matte; This was a lipstick launch I was eagerly awaiting, and this did not disappoint. I adore the original Pop Lipsticks, and the matte range fits in basically every shade you’ll ever need.
They apply well, last throughout the day and don’t feel too drying either. Another Clinique range I love!
Estee Lauder Wake Up Balm; I loved the sound of this wake-up skin balm, and I couldn’t wait to give it a whirl. The radiance-boosting base is glides on to skin to hydrate and prep, creating the perfect canvas for makeup.
It’s a must have step in my everyday routine, and it makes such a big difference to the overall look of my complexion!
Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Supplement; Finally, a skin serum I absolutely cannot get enough of! I’ve talked about this a whole lot (it even got it’s own post!) and it’s still a skincare staple for me.
The lightweight formula nourishes and perfects the skin, sinking in instantly and leaving my complexion looking fresh and dewy!
All in all, a seriously good year for beauty! Have you got any of these little lovelies on your wishlist?
